INTRODUCTION

CaseLine: Multiple Myeloma is a dynamic, interactive, online case-based learning tool designed to give oncology healthcare professionals the opportunity to practice clinical judgment skills through a number of patient case scenarios. CaseLine combines video presentations by expert faculty, cutting-edge research and evidence, and real-world challenges and questions to create a learning environment focused on improving patient care, as learners are guided through the exploration of different treatment and management strategies. CaseLine may best be described as personalized learning, as it affords learners the opportunity for individual identification of educational needs that guide therapy decisions.

TARGET AUDIENCE

The intended audience for this activity is community-based hematologists, hematologist-oncologists, medical oncologists, and oncology specialty pharmacists caring for patients with multiple myeloma.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Compare treatment regimens for multiple myeloma patients with newly diagnosed or relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma and utilize evidence when making patient-specific clinical decisions
  • Discuss efficacy and safety data for novel agents in the treatment of newly diagnosed relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma
  • Outline clinical trial data for newly diagnosed relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma patients with high-risk cytogenetics
  • Formulate an appropriate treatment approach when given case scenarios of multiple myeloma patients, including consideration for special patient populations
